The more often I ask myself this question the easier life seems to get. It is brilliant for 2 reasons. First, it does not trigger defensiveness because it’s hypothetical. Second, it takes advantage of the fact we see what we look for. Even if there is no truly “easy” solution, if I take a step back and look, I’ll find an easier one than if I jump in without reflecting.
